The Lighthouse on the entrance of the Pensacola Bay was built in 1858 and rises 150 feet tall.

It is actually the 2nd lighthouse on the bay, as the first one, built about 30 years earlier, was only 40 feet and hard to see because of surrounding trees.

Today, it's one of Florida's great lighthouses, along with the lighthouses on Amelia Island, Cape Canaveral, Charlotte Harbor, Key West, and Sanibel Island.
